Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and takes under a minute.
- Open KiwiHearts and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings.
- Scroll to Sorry to see you go and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
The 14-day grace period
Deleting doesn't wipe your account on the spot. Your profile is immediately hidden from Discover and from other members, and your account is queued for removal.
You have 14 days to change your mind. Sign back in at any point during those 14 days and tap Revert my decision, and your account and data come back exactly as they were.
Once the 14 days pass, removal is automatic and permanent.
What gets deleted
After the grace period your account record is permanently deleted from our database, along with everything linked to it:
- Your profile — name, date of birth, gender, bio, interests, region and preferences.
- All of your photos, removed from both the database and our photo storage.
- Your phone number and email address.
- Your swipes, likes, matches and the messages you sent.
- Your mood check-ins, posts, comments and reactions.
- Your credit balance and activity history. Credits have no cash value and are not refundable on deletion.
- Your push-notification token, if you had notifications enabled.
This cannot be undone after 14 days. Deleted accounts cannot be restored, and signing up again with the same phone number creates a brand-new empty profile.
What we may keep, and for how long
- Safety and abuse reports. If another member reported your account, the report itself is retained so we can keep the community safe and meet our legal obligations. It is unlinked from your deleted profile.
- Records we're legally required to hold, such as records of purchases, for as long as New Zealand law requires.

Can't get into the app?
If you've lost access to your phone number or can't sign in, email us and we'll delete the account for you:
Send it from the email address on the account if you can, and include the phone number you signed up with. We may ask you one or two questions to confirm the account is yours before we delete it — that check protects you from someone else deleting your account. We action verified requests within 30 days, and confirm by email once it's done.
Just want a break instead?
If you'd rather step away without losing your profile, you don't have to delete anything — simply sign out and stop using the app. Your profile stays visible to other members while your account exists, so if you want to be hidden as well, deleting with the 14-day grace period is the way to do it.
